Sankofa Boys Club Fellowship
Healing should never be out of reach.
WHO WE ARE
Se wo were fi na wosankofa a yenkyi.
It is not wrong to go back for what you were left behind.
That's the Sankofa principle, and it's what this fellowship is built on. The Sankofa Boys Club Fellowship is a structured weekly program where Black boys ages 10–14 come together to learn, lead, and grow into who they already have the capacity to be.
What we develop together
01
Emotional Awareness & Mental Health Literacy
Akoma
We give young men language for what they're feeling and space to actually say it. Sessions build the skills to recognize stress, process hard emotions, and ask for help without shame.
02
Brotherhood & Peer Support
Boa Me Na Me Mmoa Wo
We teach conflict resolution, active listening, and how to show up for someone who's going through it. The brotherhood forms on its own. We just teach the skills that make it possible.
03
Creative Expression
Nkyinkyim
We write, build, perform, and make. Creative work is how young men find and sharpen their voice. Learning to use it with intention is one of the most transferable skills we teach.
04
Cultural Identity & Black Heritage
Sankofa
We study the people, movements, and ideas that made them possible. Not just the suffering but the strategy, the genius, the joy. History as a source of power, not just pain.
05
Leadership Development
Dwennimmen
We put young men in rooms where their decisions matter. Through real scenarios and honest feedback, they practice what it looks like to lead themselves first, then others.
How It Works
The Sankofa Boys Club Fellowship is designed to give Black boys a safe, affirming space to learn, grow, and be poured into. Through mentorship, cultural education, wellness-centered conversations, and community experiences, fellows build confidence, character, and a deeper understanding of who they are and who they can become.
Parents, guardians, educators, community leaders, or youth-serving organizations can submit an application or nomination for a young man who would benefit from mentorship, wellness support, and positive community connection.
Selected fellows are welcomed into an intentional group experience designed to support their growth, identity, and emotional well-being.
Fellows participate in mentorship circles, wellness workshops, cultural learning, service projects, and community-building experiences. The topics and themes shift each week.
Each fellow is surrounded by peers, mentors, and trusted adults who help him feel seen, supported, and encouraged. Fellows leave with tools, relationships, and a stronger sense of who they are and what they carry forward.
